The XLP Research Trust aims to hold a research symposium every two years. The first meeting was in April 2010 and we have just completed our 2020 symposium which because of the COVID-19 pandemic was virtual. .
The symposiums look to bring together medical researchers and clinicians from across the world to present their latest research findings on XLP1 and XIAP and to give time to network together. We're always had great support from the team at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and the Jeffrey Modell Foundation WIN Program in helping make these important events come together.
We've found these events to be a brilliant way of building an informal research community and helping to learn from each other.
We had planned to host our 7th symposium in 2022, but we have made the hard decision to postpone this until 2024. It became clear that the impact of the C19 pandemic has affected all walks of life, including medical research. For large periods of the last few years, research labs haven’t been able to function effectively, meaning that we received a small number of papers that meant the symposium just wasn’t viable. We will at the start of 2024 be emailing our list of researchers involved in XLP1 and XIAP research to see if they may have some new findings to present later in the year. If you have a potential paper please do let us know.

The 4th bi-annual XLP symposium, our 2nd also covering Wiskott Aldrich Syndrome, was held on the 26th September 2016 at the Institute of Child Health in London.
